TP Link - Install / Flash DD-WRT on TL WR740N to make a Super Advanced WiFi Router

Welcome Back to a new tutorial of WiFi Router firmware. In our Previous tutorial we have learnt how to revert back to stock firmware from OpenWRT on Tp-Link and UBNT Bullet M2.<br /> Here we will learn how to Install / Flash DD-WRT on TP-Link WR740N WiFi router to make a Super Advanced WiFi Router. TP-Link WR740N is cheap SOHO router and best for small coverage area.<br /> DD-WRT is Linux based router firmware which convert a normal WiFi Router into super Advanced WiFi Router. A simple normal WiFi router has limited functionality in stock firmware. Download the DD-WRT Firmware for your TP-Link Router from <a href="https://www.dd-wrt.com/site/support/router-database" target="_blank">DD-WRT Official Site</a><br /> <br /> 2. Copy the bin files a <b>separate folder </b>for easy browsing<br /> <b><br /></b>3. Connect your router with PC / Laptop LAN port via Cat 5/6 Cable<br /> <br /> 4. Launch your browser and enter <b>192.168.0.1</b> (Default IP of TP-Link Router) in address bar<br /> <br /> 5. Goto <b>System Tools </b>-> Firmware Upgrade<br /> <br /> 6. Click the <b>Choose File</b> in front of File and Select the <b>factory-to-ddwrt.bin</b> file (Downloaded Firmware file). Click Upgrade<br /> <br /> 7. Make sure your router / Access Point  is connected to LAN port of your Router to LAN port of PC / Laptop via Ethernet cable (Cat 5/6 cable)<br /> <br /> 8. Wait for the process to flash and reboot the TP-Link router (Do not turn off your Router during this process else will brick your router)<br /> <br /> 9. Disable and then Enable your PC/ Laptop LAN to renew IP address as DD-WRT has different IP subnet than the previous.<br /> <br /> 10. Now access the router from IP <b>192.168.1.1 (</b>change the login / pass on first start<b>)</b><br /> <br /> 11. Now Goto <b>Administration</b> -> <b>Firmware Upgrade </b>and Choose the <b>tl-wr740nv4-webflash.bin </b>file and click upgrade<br /> <br /> 12. Wait for the process to flash and reboot the TP-Link router (Do not turn off your Router during this process else will brick your router)<br /> <br /> 13. Now you are Done.
